The Burlington Public Schools EdTech Team has hosted the Massachusetts Digital Publication Collaborative for the past two years in an effort to provide educators from around New England with support for curating and creating digital content. Our team believes that educators must work together to build powerful digital curriculum materials and resources that can be shared and edited by anyone across the country. We hope to break down the isolation of educational content creation and provide educators with the skills needed to build digital content as well as the time to collaborate with each other.

Please join us for #MADPC 2013 at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, MA. The FREE event will feature curation and collaboration time for educators, professional development sessions, application demonstrations, and prizes.

Check out the #MADPC event site for more details.

Create digital course content with the Net Texts system. Burlington Public Schools currently uses Net Texts to curate, create, and distribute digital courses to students in 1:1 classrooms. Learn about how educators from other districts can work with Burlington teachers to share and create more digital content for every content area.

Net Texts is a system designed to allow schools to get replace textbooks with customized multimedia courses viewed on tablets. Teachers build courses on our content management site using open educational resources as well as their own materials. Students download and view these courses using an iPad or Android app. All the videos, handouts, slideshows, and other materials are saved to local storage on the tablet, allowing students to view content without an internet connection. Net Texts works with schools to gather and organize OER content, train teachers, and implement a 1:1 system.
